2026 Calendar of Events

LIFE will be offering Affidavit Renewals for people that have to renew their affidavit because of the recent law change on 1/1/2024. We will also run the Basic Firearms course for new shooters at the same class. HRA will be offering CCW Classes on alternate month 4th Sundays and the sign up for those classes can be accessed on their website. Please go to our links page to access their website.

Skill Builder Events

Participation in the Skill Builder Events is open to Hawaii Rifle Association members only and there will be a signup required via link on Calendar. Interested participants who are not HRA members can join on the website. CLICK HERE to learn more about joining HRA.

Attire for the Skill Builder Events include closed toed shoes appropriate for range activity.

  • NO SLIPPERS, SANDALS, OR OPEN BACK TYPE SHOES.
  • Shirts should have a t-shirt type, or button up collar. NO LOW CUT TOPS, TANK TOPS, OR OTHER ATTIRE THAT DOES NOT PROVIDE REASONABLE PROTECTION FROM FLYING BRASS.
  • Shorts are OK.
  • Hats and sun-screen are recommended.
  • No water or food is provided, so please make sure to bring what you think you might need.

New LIFE graduates are welcome to attend the open shoot portion which takes place in the afternoon unless the Skill Builder Event is the whole day. If you have completed your basic firearms course and have not yet purchased your guns, many of the instructors will allow you to use their guns as you continue to build your skill set and confidence. However, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN AMMUNITION.

***Fee for Skill Builder Events Range from: $30 depending on the course of fire and class duration. If there happens to be a midday start open shoot after a half day Skill Builder Event then the attendees only fee is $10.***

Skill Builder/Fun Shoot Schedule:

  • 8:00 am                Setup
  • 8:45 am                Safety brief
  • 9 – 11 am              Instructor led training
  • 11 – 11:15 am        Midday range cleaning
  • 11:15 am – noon    Lunch
  • Noon                      Safety brief
  • 12:15 – 2:45 pm    Open shoot if no afternoon Skill Builder Event scheduled
  • 2:45 – 3:15 pm      Takedown and cleanup

ALL attendees MUST attend the safety briefing.  Morning shoot attendees please assist with setup and midday range cleaning.  Afternoon open shoot attendees please assist with takedown and range cleanup.  All attendees MUST be HRA members.
